About London Bridge Hotel
London Bridge Hotel is located in one of the most up and coming areas of London but also one of the most historic. Various fascinating Roman artefacts and remains were discovered on the site of the hotel, which is in close proximity to London Bridge – the first and only bridge over The Thames until 1750. The Museum of London excavated the site and the artefacts were moved across for safekeeping.
The current building was constructed in 1916 and was used as a wartime telephone exchange in the 1940s. London Bridge is now a thriving area which is experiencing an exciting regeneration at the heart of the new ‘London Bridge Quarter’ regeneration scheme.
The hotel is two minutes from mainline London Bridge Rail and Underground Stations and a short stroll from London Bridge City Pier for Thames Clipper ferries – the stylish way to visit the O2. A new regeneration project in the area features a new bus station, retail space, landscaped central piazza and social centre at the base of The Shard – a world class building designed as a vertical city, which is now Western Europe’s tallest building.
Traditional and contemporary designs blend to create a tranquil and elegant interior, where guests will feel a world away from the bustling city outside.
